Beatriz Manteigas grew up and studied in Lisbon although she now lives and works on the countryside of Portugal, where her family has a farm. She holds a B.A. in Painting (2012), a M.F.A. in Artistic Anatomy (2014), and she is currently pursuing her PhD in Fine Arts – all by the faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
Manteigas has also attended two semesters of studies at the University of Oporto, Valencia’s Polytechnic and the Royal Academy of St. Petersburg. Her art have exhibited in galleries and museums since 2009.
Since 2016, she is also the director of Quinta das Relvas – Arts and Sustainability Association, and a researcher for the Fine-Arts Studies and Research Center of the University of Lisbon (CIEBA) since 2017.
