Beyond the Balcony will feature works by artists of multi-racial and multi-cultural backgrounds who unite to examine solutions to social, political and economic injustices. Artists are challenged to create artwork that explores the importance of motivating and activating positive change that will answer the question “where do we go from here”; artists should also offer conceptual and formal dialogue on the building of public will and policy change that corrects injustice. Each artist has a unique opportunity to contribute to the ongoing social and political discussion by using art as a platform to inform and influence the perspective of others.
